merry xmas & happy advance new year to everyone XD~...
Few days back (m not sure was it 2 0r 3 days back, we had another early morning run at Serasa. The crew with the exception for Salir, aha,...and the guys, mainly Ros Edwin and Jai joined us. I arrived there at about 7am whilst Ros and Aizo came earlier. The guys were trying their luck too to catch Mangrove Jacks after a lot of fuss heard from the area of people getting MJs like almost everyday weeks back. Probably its Mangrove Jack Hunting Season hehe. The 3 of us set up our kirikans with kembura being the baits as usual. I could say, what ever happened on that day was really amusing...laughters filled the atmosphere on our part of the hunting ground. It was all due to one man, Ros. Haha I'd really have to say, he never fails to amuse me...That day his kirikan was struck first and almost got a fish, accidentally. why u might asked? Haha well he was pulling back his line as he made a bad throw earlier and while retriving, this fish came plunging like a torpedo onto his bait, it was so visible that at that point it made him became a it panicky and retrieved his line even faster. The fish didn't get hooked yet but evenso it was still visible that it was still attempting to plunge the bait. It gave another plunge on his bait, and finally it seemed to have been hooked. Slowly Ros retrieved it, until it reached the rocks. This is the accidental part here, he pulled it trying to get it on the rocks nearer to us, with him shouting telling us to help him get the fish. Aizo came with a bucket, but when he tried to pull it up further near us, suddenly the damn fish let go of the bait and jumped into this medium sized ledge filled with water and Aizo tried to capture it using a bucket, haha Thats a bucket man not a net haha...eventually the fish got smart and manage to escape by going in between the rocks...n yea there was no way we were able to get it, it was a barracuda btw, and yea who in the right mind would wana try and catch it barehanded, not with its numerous sharp teeth around.
Jai and Edwin came by later on and set up their kirikan. Jai tried a new method, it was sumtin like a cross-over of Casting and using kirikanz hehe i guess its calle castrikanz kali haha... he used this rubber frog lodged with a hook and he threw the line and retrieved it slowly as if he was casting. Anyways the other kirikanz with the mullet occasionally gets eaten and on some of our kirikanz did show the possibility of hooking up a fish but eventually in some cases the fish let go or our lines getting stuck on the rocks underwater. Ros did get get another alert when his line was seen pulled so hard but tough luck the line got tangled to something or probably the hook got stuck, nevertheless the fish was lost.
My first MJ from Serasa
As we were waiting for any bites on our lines, I noticed that one of my lines was getting tighter, which eventually was pulled as the line kept being pulled out further into the water. There was no mistaken it was a fish and hooked. I pulled the line as quick as I can to prevent the fish from trying to hide under the rocks which can make them hard to get and finally getting the line stuck instead. Pulled it hard, it gave really a good fight, but finally I got it. It was worth it despite getting cuts on your fingers, but that don't matter. It was an MJ, medium sized one which I could say only was about 500g+...But still I was rather excited coz that was my first using the Kirikan and at Serasa. You can see from the picture above on my facial expression, that was me holding back the tears of joy HAHAHA..But I know that hasn't beat the other crew members catch yet but I will keep on trying...hehe We continued to try our luck until we ran out of Kembura. Initially, we guys decided to stay a bit longer since the weather was ok not that hot and sunny..so Aizo and Jai decided to check the mfish market for more Kembura. But then, none were sold at the markets so it was finally a wrap. We packed up our stuffs and left Serasa at about 10am. It was fun, especially with the presence of the other guys, and guys, lets have another fishy outing like that..thats all for now happy fishing, Selamat HariRaya AidilAdha, and happy holidays
Its seems a long time since I've updated our lott here... I've been busy anyway battling through papers in the exam, and heck I was the last to finish anyway, but hey I'm back to update with anything I can...Exams over so its Fishing time... We've actually done a lot of fishing trips eversince the exam ended but several of our trips ended in no catch at all probably due to the weather or probably the fish were floundering somehwere else or probably the fish were simply not hungry haha which ever reason makes you happy...anyways...my update this time is about the crew's trip yesterday to anduki. We decided to make a change in our anduki trip this time by going there early in the morning and not simply casting with our artificial lures but this time back to the conventional live bait fishing...hehe btah dah nda...we left bandar at about 7 am, with Aizo's bro, Razi tagging along with us this time. We arrived at Anduki at about 830 making a stop on the way for supplies. And yea we actually got our live prawn baits earlier the day before yesterday. Upon arriving we went to this spot where we usually fish using live baits, its a good thing we went there earlier, otherwise this spot would usually be filled with other people trying their luck too.
First fish of the day
My second Lauk putih
This has to be the Whopper of the day I might say
The crew in action
Rods were set up and baits were casted out into waters. We waited and waited. The day was getting warmer, yet still no rings from our bells...so we decided its time for or big 2 duels along the sound of Paula Deanda's song while further awaiting of the ruckus on the sensors to spring ourselves into action. The long awaited for signs finally came when occasionally our rods were tugged as we see our lines getting either lose or our rods were simply pulled by something causing them to bend which happened on one of Aizo's rods. Moments later, Aizo signalled to me that one of my rods probably have something on. I tried my luck and reeled it in, and yes this time there was something. I reeled in one Lauk putih, well thats a start. This really got everyone's spirit. Aizo's bro, Razi didn't join us using live baits instead he travelled light trying his luck casting on several spots on the park. Soon came another tug from my other rod, I reeled it and again another Lauk putih... More anticipation was brought to the atmosphere after y when Razi, came back to us whoa with a nice Barracuda from casting somewhere not far where we were deploying our live baits. Despite the day getting blazing hot by time coz it was almost 12pm, with our fishing spirits we held on with much hopes of catching bigger fishes. Aizo and myself from that moment set up our casting gear and it was time for us to try our luck by casting. But eventually, we came off dry, not a single tug or ring from the bells and even our casting rods. As soon as the live baits ran out, we packed our gear up and finally decided to head home. We finished the trip at about 230pm. Everyone was tired and sleepy. I would say its a good trip at least fishes were caught, even if I was hoping for bigger fish. Well congratz to Razi, with his first very own fish with his casting gear. I would say his Barracuda slayed by his lure would be the highlight of the day. There would be more trips by the crew in the future. It was fun guys, haha especially with the Paula Deanda song, even the fish like it. hehe....

as usual we set up our kirikanz...oops..i mean both my kirikan (salir borrowed mine hehe) n cast it away.....i brought my fishing rod as well n setting it up w a leader...bt it will b different...i used a dead prawn..stole from d freezer (sory mom)...so i used it n cast it into the open water..we were jus waiting for a bites from our kirikanz..i was rily concentrating on my kirikan bt when i turn my head left to cek my rod it was bending like crazy...almost like a 'U'....so w/o delay i ran n grab my rod n started reeling it in....and at last it was a kerapu....not quite big only about half a kilo bt making my rod bending like dat it rily is a strong contender...
well not long aftr dt salir got a bite on the kirikan..the pull was strong so he pulled bt to no avail the culprit got away..possibly another ungah for salir bt tough luck mayts hehehe....better luck next tym salir....
so we kept fishing until our bait ran out so its tym we go home....once agen another great fish buster fishing even tho we only caught one bt enuf to put a smile on our faces...GO FISH BUSTERS!!!!!

w/o any delays salir jus giv out his usual excuse of sleeping late n borrowed my kirikan...n den jus after about 15mins his bait was taken....it is no doubt dt judging by the 'pull' it makes it cud be an MJ....a BIG one!!
so Salir...together w my help...pulled n pulled d line n finally...no mistaking it...an MJ....alas!! Salir w his smiling face :-)
the MJ caught was about 2KGs....but hey man..ur in a long way to go in reaching my 3kgs haha..after about 10 we all left due to insufficient kembura...at least we're happy to catch sumthin rather than nuthin....
once agen congratz fish buster Salir for taming d "vampire" of Serasa beach....
P.S. I helped him hehe
hello anglers its been a while since i myself updated this wonderful blog of fishing (nada tangkapan bh hehe) so nway, today i wana share my story not fishing but keeping fish instead...that's right..and don't be surprised..but i keep marine fishes..but not just any fishes...its a Mangrove jack...and also...a blue-lined grouper...and whats more surprising...they're both in one tank and both are still alive haha....
both fishes are known to be territorial and having a reputation of aggressive behaviours...this is not sumthin that u shud keep together..but for me by luck i put both MJ and BL grouper in one tank...and now they are swimming freely and happily....guna buy a new tank a bigger one so they can swim more freely.....
how i got dem?from fishing of course hehe....i caught the BL grouper just before the fasting months and the MJ just after my exams are over hehe....i called my babies, SALLY and BENIHIME!!!
i duno wat theyre genders are so m guna try n search for it on the net...but hopefully, they'll be living longer in the tank hehe...i will update on the progress of my babies and by that tym hopefully they'll become giants...till den cheers and happy fishing!!
note: if u wan any tips of how to keep marine fishes feel free to ask!! :) :) :)
